Best Places to Fish in Scotland - September 3, 2011 -
There is great fishing all across the world but none as beautiful or exciting as fishing in Scotland. Scotland offers many beautiful fishing areas for all individuals depending on what you are trying to catch, where you are located, and what exactly your desire is in fishing. When fishing in Scotland you will either have to choose the rivers or the Lochs.
The rivers offer some amazing catches. The River Allen is one of the most well managed rivers in the country. This river will allow you to catch all you want without any adverse effects in the river that overcrowding sometimes brings. It is also a long river so you are welcome to find your perfect spot.
If you are looking for sea trout or Salmon then the river Annan is your destination. This river also offers many accommodations along the way if you are looking for a great vacation spot.
If it is the lochs you desire instead then the Loch Awe is your place. This is one of the most famous Lochs in Scotland for its Brown Trout. Not only are they fun to reel in but if you decide to keep them, they are a great tasting eat.
The Assynt Area is another great area that is perfect for fly fishing. This destination also has brown trout and is worth the required 25 pound fishing fee to gain access to this spot.
Many of the locals will swear to the fact that Carron Valley Reservoir is the best trout fishing location in all of Scotland and it will also take your breath away with its beauty. It is a well managed reservoir and can provide accommodations for a vacation and fishing trip.
Though these may be the best fishing destinations in Scotland, they are certainly many more that makes Scotland a great place to fish.
