Here it is the top 10 fishing spots in Scotland in no particular order. Number 1, the River Tweed also known as the “Queen of salmon rivers” has its best fishing in the fall. Number 2, is Loch Fitty which is known for its rainbow and brown trout. Fish there from the boat or the bank. Number 3 is River Findhorn. Salmon, grilse, and sea trout call this river home. Four, River Spay located in Northeast Scotland and its second longest river offers competitive fishing. Five is the River Tay and is Scotlands longest flowing river. Some of the best salmon and trout fishing is had there. Next is Sutherlands Rivers, it offers some of northern Scotland’s best salmon fishing. Followed by Assynt Lochs which boasts wild brown trout and is a real treat. Next is North Uist Lochs which features some pretty good wild trout fishing. Nine is Scrabaster located on the north coast of Scotland. See if you can’t get on a boat get after some real big fish. Finally Orkney Lochs which has some of the most amazing wild brown trout fishing in all of Scotland and may well be the best fishing spot of them all.
